REEFER

You may remember a painting I made about three years ago called English Star.  It was based on a ship of that name I saw laid up in Gdynia, Poland.  The ship was despatched to Alang Beach for demolition shortly after I saw it.

I have exhibited it a number of times, and it remains one of my favourite pieces.  I wanted to see how the same subject would respond to being given more texture.  So I have created a second version of the painting, using the same colour palette, but with a much deeper modelling.  I call it Reefer, which is the generic name given to refrigerated cargo ships, of which English Star was an example.
