I have decided that the prize should be shared ...
the first answer I received was from the well known Airdrie photographer, social commentator and blogger Dr Bruce Peter, who actually gave two answers: "I see either 9 or 11, depending on how precisely we define what can be counted."
I had a single answer from London artist Lorraine Fossi, who said she saw 9.
The answer is of course 9, as you can see from the attached sketch I made before I painted it:
The prizes will be shared as follows:
Bruce and Lorraine both get to visit the show and meet the artist with a glass of wine (but these benefits can be deferred).
